Tony Iommi Wishes James Hetfield Well In Rehab

A Heartwarming Message
Over a week ago, Metallica had to cancel their shows in Australia and New Zealand after frontman James Hetfield re-entered a treatment program to battle his addiction. The band wrote in an announcement, “We are truly sorry to inform our fans and friends that we must postpone our upcoming tour of Australia and New Zealand.
“As most of you probably know, our brother James has been struggling with addiction on and off for many years. He has now, unfortunately, had to re-enter a treatment program to work on his recovery again.
“We fully intend to make our way to your part of the world as soon as health and schedule permit. We’ll let you know as soon as we can.”
Black Sabbath’s Tony Iommi took to Facebook to express his support to fellow rock icon. He wrote, “My best out to James Hetfield. You’ve done the right thing seeking help – I’m thinking of you my friend and wishing you all the very best on your recovery. Looking forward to seeing you back at your best very soon. Your pal, Tony”
Both of these rockers actually go way back. In fact, it was Metallica who inducted Black Sabbath into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2006. In Hetfield’s speech, he said, “I realize that without [SABBATH’s] defining sound, there would be no METALLICA, especially with one James Hetfield.”
