“Sometimes, I Wish I Was A Bit More Like Bob Dylan” – Paul McCartney

He’s A Huge Fan

Paul McCartney has previously said in a BBC Radio 2 documentary marking what would have been John Lennon’s 80th birthday that Bob Dylan was a huge influence on The Beatles. He used to listen to Dylan’s records a lot and he’s pretty sure Lennon did too.

And now in a new interview with Uncut magazine, he once again gushed about the folk rock icon. Aside from sharing about his life and how he made his upcoming album “McCartney III”, he was asked about Dylan’s first original album in eight years – “Rough and Rowdy Ways”.

McCartney says, “I always like what he does. Sometimes I wish I was a bit more like Bob. He’s legendary… and doesn’t give a shit! But I’m not like that. His new album? I thought it was really good. He writes really well. I love his singing – he came through the standards albums like a total crooner. But, yeah, I like his new stuff.”

He adds, “People ask me who I’m a fan of and Bob Dylan and Neil Young always make the list.”

Macca is set to release “McCartney III” on December 11. It follows 1970’s “McCartney” and 1980’s “McCartney II”. Other details are yet to be announced.
