Rod Stewart is preparing to release a new album titled “The Tears of Hercules” – the follow-up to 2018’s “Blood Red Roses”. It arrives on November 12, and to preview the upcoming LP, he dropped its leadoff single “One More Time.” He wrote nine of the 12 songs on it, the other three were cover versions. He’s clearly been productive during the pandemic even though his shows were canceled.
“I’ve never said this before about any previous efforts,” he said in a statement, “but I believe this is by far my best album in many a year.”
Stewart co-wrote “One More Time” and “All My Days” with keyboardist/songwriter Kevin Savigar, who also co-produced the album. Stewart teamed up with his touring guitarist Emerson Stewart to co-write “Born to Boogie (a Tribute to Marc Bolan)” and “I Can’t Imagine”. “Touchline” is a tribute to his father “who taught him and his brothers to love football, a tradition Sir Rod has passed down to his sons”, according to a press release.
Stewart will go back on the road. He will play at the Nugget Event Center in Sparks, Nevada on October, and he will resume his Las Vegas residency on October 6.
