We’ve loved Pat Benatar from the moment she first burst onto the scene, and more than three decades later we still can’t get enough! This week saw the release of Pat’s brand new song “Shine,” a soaring anthem of empowerment written for her Shine Together Movement with the help of Linda Perry and husband and collaborator, Neil Giraldo and with it, a gorgeous little music video that shows the work that went into Pat’s latest labor of love.

The track comes hot on the heels of the women’s march that took place last weekend and while Pat stressed that she isn’t out to bash political figures or ideologies from either side of the aisle, her main concern is using her music as a force to unite and inspire others to stop and put themselves in other people’s shoes.

Fun Fact: Proceeds from sales of “Shine” have been earmarked for the B.A. Rudolph Foundation, a nonprofit dedicated to supporting women pursuing careers in public service and/or government.
