During The Dick Cavett Show, Janis Joplin revealed her appreciation of Tina Turner. It’s a rare and intimate view of the legendary psychedelic rocker as she seemed to be just like us — a fan of great performance. She described Tina in the most accurate way: “Fantastic singer, fantastic dancer, fantastic show.” Although, we think Janis is all that as well. And when she said, “She’s the best chick ever!” we just loved seeing the fan-girl in her.

It’s basically the same words we’d use if we were asked to describe Janis. When she takes the stage, it feels like it’s just you and her and the music. Even when you only watch videos of her live performances, you can feel the intensity of her singing — so soulful and emotional. And when she performed with Ike and Tina Turner at the Madison Square Garden, she definitely made everyone’s dreams come true!
