11-Year Old Toby Pays Emotional Tribute To Prince With This Masterful ‘Purple Rain’ Cover

He put on a masterclass!

It’s hard to believe that it’s almost been one year since we lost Prince. We’re less than 4 months away from the anniversary of his passing, and ever since then, the world has felt a little more empty without his amazing music.

Since his passing, many people have paid their respects to the legend via some amazing covers! Take for example the one you’re about to watch. 11-year old Toby Lee from England sat down and shredded this unbelievable cover of Prince’s biggest hit: “Purple Rain.” Toby’s cover is a little unorthodox, however. Unlike a standard cover where a guitarist will learn the chords and all of the riffs and play them note for note, Toby improvises over a simple drum track of the song! The improvisation allows him to get creative and turn the song into one of his own! It’s pretty damn fantastic, and this kid will be a force to be reckoned with in the rock n’ roll world when he gets older.
